WHAT + WHY

On A CLEAR BRIGHT DAY IN MAY 2016, Feeding the 5000 NYC took over the North Plaza of Manhattan’s historic Union Square Park. Thousands of members of the public were provided with a delicious free feast, sourced entirely from fresh top-quality produce that would have otherwise been wasted.

But that’s not all: 5000 further meals were also prepared and transported to City Harvest’s network of soup kitchens and food banks throughout the city!
